Revit can handle domestic water systems — but only if they’re set up properly. Here are 5 core principles we use in every project:
Always define system type (cold/hot/recirculation)
If you skip this, Revit won’t know how to calculate flow — and the system won’t behave correctly.

Add slopes where needed
Even small slopes matter — for installation clarity, coordination, and visualization.

Use only families with proper connectors
Fixtures like faucets, sinks, water heaters must have connectors with defined flow parameters.

Check flow direction manually
Revit doesn’t always guess the right direction, especially near circulation loops — check and correct it.

Split systems by function and floor level
Helps with scheduling, system control, and improves model clarity.
