Clash Detection in Navisworks

Clash Detection in Navisworks is a powerful tool used by BIM-Engineers to identify and resolve conflicts between different elements of a 3D project model. Using Clash Detective can help engineers to reduce the risk of human error during model inspections. Here is a brief review of how it works:

Open the Model and launch Clash Detective:
Start by opening your 3D model in Navisworks. Use the Clash Detective tool to begin the clash detection process

Create and Run a Test:
Define the test parameters and select the elements you want to check for clashes. Then execute the test to identify clashes between selected elements

Review Results and Resolve Clashes:
Analyze the clash results and categorize them based on status (New, Active, Reviewed, Approved, Resolved). Make necessary adjustments to the model to resolve the identified clashes:

Export Reports:
Clash Detection tool allows engineers to generate clash reports in formats like HTML for documentation and communication with stakeholders. For example, there are an elements ID’s in these reports according which elements can easily be detected in Revit model for adjusting or overview.
